LOS ANGELES, Nov 14 — Believe it or not, Daisy Ridley actually thinks she wasn’t that good in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
In a recent interview with Elle UK, Ridley revealed that she had doubts over her performance in the film saying: “I didn’t think I was good in the first film, and I was struggling with that.”
She didn’t elaborate on why she hated her performance but she was glad that she had the support of Carrie Fisher. In true Princess Leia style, Fisher helped her cope with the pressure and sudden celebrity of appearing in Star Wars by reminding her not to shrink away from success, but to enjoy it.
“That was wonderful. At work, you’re normal. You’re not the anomaly, unlike in other situations.”
Ridley also revealed that she’s more at ease now playing the role of Rey in her second go in the galaxy far, far away for The Last Jedi.
“It’s not this big adventure that I’m on with John [Boyega]. I was thinking I did the first one because I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into and I was having loads of fun, and suddenly I’m realising what this actually is, and I can’t f***king do this.
“I’m highly dramatic, so it’s all, ‘Oh, my God!’…Finally, I was like ‘Oh, yeah. This is working’.”
Ridley will be seen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi that opens on December 15.
